Remote Help Desk

Remote Help Desk allows our technician to log directly into your computer from our office. This secure connection must be allowed by you at the time of service and expires at the conclusion. Many problems can be addressed at this time, all while you watch in real time on your screen with the technician on the phone. Here is a small list of common problems that we can address:

Virus and Spyware removal
Slow or unresponsive system
E-mail setup and retrieval
Installing and Uninstalling of software
Teaching basic computer use
Checking and or repairing backup systems
After hour repairs
and many more... Just call for an appointment.

The only 2 requirements are:

You must have access to the internet from the computer you need worked on.
You must provide a valid credit card before work can begin.
We take your card information up front but only charge when the work is complete.

The rate for this service is $95.00 per hour. Most sessions are completed with the first hour. All work comes with a 2 week warranty. If you find that you still have a problem or it has returned within that 2 weeks just call us and we will perform another Help Desk session at no charge until the problem is fixed. If the problem cannot be fixed remotely and a technician must come out, a travel charge of $20.00 may be applied. Out of area customers will be issued a refund. What is a Static IP address and what is a Dynamic IP address.

You may have heard people talk about Static and Dynamic IP addresses but what are they, really? An IP address is a unique number assigned to your computer either by your ISP (Internet Service Provider) or your router. It’s like a phone number for your PC and it floats around the internet along with a billion other computers IP addresses that are currently on-line. Most home users, and business users for that matter use a Dynamic IP address. This is an address that changes either daily or weekly depending on your ISP and their usually cheaper to have. Static IP’s remain static and never change, this is good for businesses that have users at remote locations that need access to a server. If it wasn’t for a static IP address the number would change constantly and no one would be able to gain access remotely.

Blue Screen Errors or The Blue Screen of Death.

The BSOD can appear for a number of reasons and there all bad. Hardware or hard drive failure, Bad memory, a major program malfunction or a very bad virus. This is the time to start thinking about how you didn’t back up all of that important data and now it may be too late. If you see it, don't waste your time, just call us. But, if you want to give it a try here’s the best way to narrow down your search but you will need a computer that has access to the internet. The next time your system blue screens look at the top of the page for the Stop Error code, it looks something like this 0x0000000A. Take this code and either Google it or you can see if it’s on our stop errors page. This will give you a good clue as to the culprit of the crash.
